When You Do That Voodoo... by TeriStearns When You Do That Voodoo... by TeriStearns
This is an old picture I did for a friend's birthday, my first picture ever done it Painter. It has major problems, I know, but the idea of this makes me laaaaaugh and laaaaaugh. :evillaugh:

Vincent Valentine, Hojo, FFVII Square-Enix.

Awwww.... it's so touching. I'm not sure if Hojo would really approve of something as occult as voodoo, but I sure do. Besides, it's a great stress relief!

Ah, yes. I do remember this from somewhere, although I don't recall where. Don't worry, I read your reply to ~Immortal-Valentine, so I have no intention of accusing you of ripping. ^^

I've always liked the flat-out, unadulterated insanity of this pic. And not happy, bounce-off-the-walls insanity, but that dark, creepy insanity that we all love Hojo for.

I'm glad I can finally offer my congratulations on art well done to the artist.

Oh... I'm all misty now... *sniff* :+fav:

Whoot! I have seen this before too! And I love it. Hojo is so creezy in da head. XD Please keep all Vincent plushies away from him.

I love the shading and coloring you did on this. Its angular, but it doesn't look blocky, and the shading smooths it out.. its really cool! ^^ And the font fits it wonderfully as well. =D

Thank you! It takes an awful amount of resistance and willpower for me not to redo this picture, since I know I could do it so much better now (particularly now that I understand Painter so much better), but it really does make me happy that so many people enjoy it as it is. :happycry:

Ah, I saw this on GlassShards' site. So you're her friend hm? I've seen that Vincent noir somewhere before too... where else do you have that posted? I've had it saved for quite some time on my harddrive and you've only been on DA for a bitsy.

Well, lemme think... I gave the Voodoo Hojo picture to GlassShard for her birthday, what...3 years ago now? We've been online pals since '99, I wanna say. She's taught me a heckuva lot, and apparently I give her honest, decent feedback on her work when she asks for it. We're not SUPER tight, but we chat now and again. (Not name dropping, by the way, just stating facts...)

I've got my own website where ALL this work is posted already: TLS Digital (the TLS standing for my name, Teri L. Stearns...you'll have to beat the middle name outta me. All right. Fine. It's Lyn.). I've had that going for a good 5 years now.

I also happened across Fanart Central about a month before I found DA, though 99.9% of the stuff posted there was less-than-average quality and posted the Vincent Noir picture on there along with some other stuff to raise the bar a bit. Fanart Central, for the most part, makes me wanna cry, and I don't mean that in a happy way.

I've got an account on GFXArtist (though I don't think I've posted either of these pictures there yet...I'm really too lazy to look right now). And damned if I can remember where else I've posted it.

I've only been aware of DA for a little while. For the longest time, I didn't know what it was, and so wasn't all that impressed with it. I kept running into people who had DA accounts, and overall, the dang interface kinda bugged me. That, and the overwhelming SAGE GREEN look of the place made me nauseous.

Then I came to realize just how HUGE DA is and what a variety of talents it hosts. I joined for the hell of it and used my cat's name, "Boltbadger," as an alias, thinking I'd be better off remaining anonymous until I figured out what it was all about. Well, I chose a stupid alias not knowing at the time I couldn't change it--now wishing I'd just gone with TLSDigital or EntreNous (which is my online alias), even though I'm SICK TO DEATH of "TLSDigital." BLEH. If it wasn't so attached to me now, I'd ditch it.

Basically, I'm a feedback whore. I post where people will see me in the hopes they will recognize my work and give me some advice. Also, I'm trying to market myself to a broader audience. I'm sick of doing temp work for a living and would like it if people started actually BUYING some of my artwork. DA seemed like a good place to get some exposure, as well as look around at what else is out there in the digital art community.

So there you have it in a nutshell. I'm flattered you recognized my work, but I assure you, I take full credit for my stuff, crappy or otherwise. :)

Hm... makes me wonder if someone ripped it off then 'cause I've never been to any of those sites. Figures though I didn't write down where I got it; I didn't get into that habit til recently. Oh well, I know whose it is now hm?~~

Feedback whore is good.~~ As are kitties. Boltbadger, cute name.

Hmm, well sometimes people ask me if they can post my stuff on their site, and I generally let them as long as they give me credit for the work. If you happen to run across something otherwise, though, I'd appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks for being on the lookout! :salute:

*nods* I have NO clue where I saw it now but like I said... *snigger* You should see my collection of Vincent pics; I usually record whose they are but sometimes it doesn't say or I forget or am lazy. But um... Yeah, it's my largest collection.~~;
